The Big Grift Post

I have made no secret in these posts that I write a bit of fiction now and then. At least I believe I haven’t kept it a secret. If I’m mistaken, well, allow me to correct that: My name is Ken Lizzi and I’m a writer. And I don’t intend to quit, cold turkey or otherwise.

Bearing that in mind, instead of discussing and promoting the work of other writers, this post will plug some of mine. Because that’s how I like my commercialism: Crass and brass.

Milestone Reflections

This March is replete with major life milestones. Maybe I ought to offer each a few moments of reflection before the fact rather than let the weight of the milestones drop on me unprepared.

The tenth anniversary of my marriage impends. Ten years married to MBW. A decade. Imagine that. All those who thought no one could endure my nonsense for more than a few months can suffer the ignominy of error. I can understand the surprise, though. I mean, I know me pretty well and I have trouble putting up with myself. And those skeptics were merely relying on past history. A perfectly justifiable metric.

Orycon 38 on the Horizon

Orycon beckons once again. The Portland science-fiction convention has asked me back as a panelist for the 2016 con, the 38th.

Looks like I’ll be given a reading. I wonder what I should read. Something from my next novel, perhaps? An older short story? Any suggestions?

I see I’m scheduled for an autograph session. If you find yourself at Orycon this year, drop by and say hello at Autograph Alley. I’ll be the one looking bemused and lonely behind a stack of books.

Seriously, if you are interested in meeting me at the convention, here’s my schedule for the weekend. I hope to see you there.
