NTRPG 2026

Ken, you ask, aren’t you looking for work? What are you doing at a gaming convention, you spendthrift fool?

Excellent questions, imaginary questioner. Allow me to address them. Point the first: I had already paid for the badge last year. As far as I know, membership fees are non-refundable. Point the second: Despite that, I had not really intended to attend, but MBW informed me, in a manner that would brook no disagreement, that I was in desperate need of blowing off steam, that my stress levels demanded reduction.

And so, here I am, enjoying my last couple of hours before I commence the 5-hour drive home. For long periods at a time I was able to deal with imaginary problems rather than real ones. I saw people I only encounter once a year. I rolled some dice and drank some beer. I got some work done on a couple of different books, reviewing the copyedits for Twilight Galaxy: The Long Gambit (to be released upon an unsuspecting world at the end of July) and another, not yet to be disclosed project. And yes, I did at times backslide and engage in job searching activities.

I also lost a degree of self-control while browsing the used book selections in the vendors’ room, though I could have easily gone off the deep-end. There were several more books I badly wanted to purchase. Next year.

As always, I’ll finish with a plug. The first book of the Twilight Galaxy series remains available, published by Raconteur Press. Or browse my other available scribblings.
